What to expect
Sports expeditions in the wilderness adapted to any sportsman who wants to discover or improve in an adventure sport:
The Calanques massif is a natural wonder nestling between Marseille and Cassis. This exceptional and unique landscape is a must-see in Marseille! With its pebble and fine sand beaches, small coves and turquoise waters, this biodiversity hotspot has all the makings of a postcard! It's the perfect place for outdoor sports. With a wide variety of routes to explore, the Parc national des Calanques is a climber's paradise.
Nestling in the middle of the Calanques, just a few kilometres from Marseille, this refuge will give you a true wilderness experience. You'll be able to relax and recharge your batteries in a tranquil setting, enlivened by the song of the cicadas.
From the refuge you have a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea and the Calanques massif. Resolutely ecological, the refuge is anchored in an exceptional environment. Just a few kilometres from all the climbing sites in the Calanques, it's the ideal base camp!
Throughout the week, you'll be accompanied by a qualified climbing instructor, who will pass on his passion for vertical climbing.
He'll teach you safety techniques, climbing techniques, how to use the equipment and share his experience as an adventurous climber with you.
We include:
Not included and available for hire:
Our rations are made up of local and seasonal produce, which we prepare together in the refuge kitchen. All meals (breakfast, picnic and dinner) from Sunday evening to Thursday lunchtime are included in the expedition.
What is not included
You'll receive a full list of the personal equipment you need to bring with you when you register. Here is an overview:
Take the train to Marseille > At Gare Saint-Charles in Marseille, take the TER train to Cassis > Meet at Cassis station at 5.30 p.m.
Your guide will pick you up at the station.
Once you've registered, we make it easy for participants to carpool via a WhatsApp group.
You'll be able to park your car for the week at the Port-Miou Calanques car park. After that, you won't need your car until the end of the expedition.
A little climbing or mountaineering experience is always preferable but not compulsory. All we ask is that you be in good physical condition. Do you enjoy hiking in the mountains? Can you run 10km in under an hour? Are you not afraid of heights? Then you're ready to take part in this expedition.
We leave in groups of no more than 8 people, accompanied by a qualified climbing instructor. On the last day, two instructors will supervise you on the long route.
The authenticity of the refuge we are going to makes it a rustic place where we wash ourselves with basins of water. Of course, the refuge has its own sanitary facilities.
On this expedition, we offer a completely disconnected experience in a refuge in the middle of nowhere. There are no bedrooms, but dormitories with between 4 and 10 beds. The "mountain" spirit reigns here, so we share dormitories.
