Let yourself be carried away by the serenity of the West Ourthe valley for a day, and follow the gentle rhythm of your donkey along the water. During this adventure, you will have the opportunity to :

Pack and prepare your donkey from the farm where we will start our journey.
Hike through secluded forests along the Western Ourthe in the company of your faithful companion.
Enjoy a delicious lunch of regional produce from the local organic farm.
At the end of the tour, young and old alike can enjoy a snack at the farm.

Throughout the day, your two guides, Kelly and Geoffrey, will teach you how to take care of your donkey during the ride. They'll give you a warm welcome to their educational farm, where they look after these adorable animals.

Welcome to Geoffrey and Kelly's educational farm...

in Mousny, where an unusual day out with our charming four-legged companions awaits you! Join us at 10am for an unforgettable experience.

As soon as you arrive, you have the privilege of choosing your own donkey, which will be your guide and partner throughout this adventure. Before setting off, Geoffrey and Kelly will share their expertise with you in a friendly briefing. They'll teach you the basics so you can make the most of this unique ride with our donkey friends.

Once our faithful companion is properly harnessed, we set off to explore. Together, we walk between 7 and 12 km through mysterious forests, far removed from the modern world, along the wild banks of the Western Ourthe. At times, we even have to cross the river with our furry accomplice. It's a thrilling experience that strengthens our bond with these fascinating animals.

At lunchtime, we stop off at the bio-farm to savour some delicious local produce. This well-deserved moment of relaxation allows us to recharge our batteries before resuming our journey. But that's not all! On arrival, we are treated to an exquisite snack, the reward for a day full of emotions.

Its breathtaking landscapes, with lush green valleys, mysterious beech forests and impressive limestone rock formations, create a magical atmosphere. The river Ourthe, with its crystal-clear waters, adds a touch of serenity. It's a place to recharge your batteries, lose yourself in the natural beauty and rediscover your inner balance. The imposing cliffs and fascinating caves make this a unique region. The diverse forests are home to a wide variety of wildlife. Throughout the day, you'll be accompanied by Geoffrey and Kelly, a dedicated couple who devote their time to collecting and caring for donkeys in need.

Their mission is to provide them with a loving home and look after their well-being, and every ride is an opportunity to raise awareness of the cause of the donkeys taken in.

Gîte accommodation

At lunchtime, we'll be rewarded with a delicious meal, where we'll have the pleasure of sharing a convivial moment together. We'll be celebrating local produce, carefully selected from a local bio-farm. The adults will have the chance to sample the unique flavours of the local beer, while the children will enjoy a delicious homemade apple juice. This meal will be a real gastronomic immersion in the culinary treasures of the region.

At the end of the day, on our return to the farm, we'll be welcomed with a gourmet snack. You'll be able to indulge in tasty treats, the perfect way to round off this memorable day in style.

Will a child ride the donkey?

Yes, the donkey can carry a load of up to 35kg. You will only need to carry your day bag with your jacket, water bottle and picnic. Note that to load the donkey, your bag should be a maximum of 60cm long, and you should allow for a maximum of 10kg per person.

How many hours will we be walking?

Depending on your pace, you should allow between 5 and 7 hours for this day hike.

Is it necessary to have hiking experience to participate in a donkey trek?

No, this hike can be considered as a discovery of hiking in the wild. We offer you a wild immersion accessible to all.

How many donkeys will accompany our group?

Depending on the size of your group, 2 to 4 donkeys will accompany us on this walk.
